Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management (CIEM) is a Tertiary institution in Tollygunge, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The Institute was founded in 2003 with an aim to develop a “Center for Excellence”, by eminent educationalists, social workers and most importantly the Government of West Bengal.[1]

The partially government-aided Institute, with 5.08 acres (20,600 m2) of land, has lecture rooms, workshops and seminar rooms, laboratory rooms, 450+ computer terminals and a central academic library, which has an institutional membership of IEL-IET and AICTE-INDEST, along with other amenities as per the AICTE guidelines. It is a non-residential institution with student-friendly facilities that include a small medical unit, cafeteria, common-room and one play ground.
The Students' Committee is in place to organise all the activities and guard the interest of the students. Celsius is the annual inter-college cultural-technical fest of CIEM.[2]
It offers Baccalaureate Degrees in technology and management - BTech, BBA, BCA etc. All courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Government of India and the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. The Institute is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).
Selection/admission is based on candidates' performance in the Joint Entrance Examination and as per the norms stipulated by the AICTE and the State Government. [3]
Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management has been selected for grant under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program PhaseII (TEQIP-II) funded by Government of West Bengal and Government of India.
11 engineering institutions in West Bengal have qualified for grants through Phase II of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme(TEQIP-II), a World Bank funded program in India. CIEM is one the 11 institutions. [4]
